Background

- A Communications Officer will be part of the Communication Team and will primarily provide both technical and administrative support to the team.
- A Communications Officer assists the team with all aspects of communications activities including media relations, publications, documentation, and other public relation activities as well as general administrative tasks.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Program & Development and Director of Finance & Administration, and under the overall supervision of Executive Director, a Communications Officer will:
- Assist communication team in planning communication strategy
- Manage internal and external publications (meeting minutes, annual report, journals, newsletters)
- Assist in organizing events: publications and documentations
- Produce press release and publish news/articles
- Create contents for website and manage social media
- Assist in translating communication materials from English to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa
- Handle communications with public and media
- Maintain database system and archive all communication files and records
- Manage the organization's event and meeting schedules and correspondence.
- Conduct general administrative work
- Perform other tasks as may be required by the team

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Sciences or other related disciplines with some previous experience in related fields
- Familiar with the latest media development
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Indonesian
- Experience in event organizing
- Detail oriented with good work ethics
- Quick learner and easily adapts to the work environment
- Pleasant personality (friendly, team player, creative)
- Interested in democracy and human rights issues
- Committed to The Habibie Center for the duration of work contract (min 1 year)
