Human Resources Development in Science and Technology (Yayasan Pembinaan, Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia dalam Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi / Yanbinbang SDM-Iptek) was established on May 12, 1997 by Prof. Dr. -Ing. B. J. Habibie, Dr. Hj. Hasri Ainun Habibie, Dr. Ing. Ilham Akbar Habibie and Dipl. -ing. Thareq Kemal Habibie.

In order adjustment of the Foundation Law No. 16 of 2001, by Notary – Yudo Paripurno No. 20 June 25, 2002, the HR Yanbinbang Science Foundation, later renamed Human Resources in Science and Technology. HR Science Foundation has two (2) major programs, namely the provision of scholarships in the country and abroad, and the award B.J Habibie (Habibie Award), but since 2011 HR Science Foundation major program focusing Habibie Award.

Habibie Award is one of the main program of Human Resources Science Foundation which has been held since 1999 up to 2016. Habibie Award Recipients are selected through a selection process Habibie Award Committee. Until now there are 54 people Habibie Award Recipients who have been elected. The award is given to individuals who are active and very instrumental in the discovery, development, and dissemination activities on Science and Technology’s new (innovative) helpful and meaningful (significant) for increased prosperity, justice, and peace.

To achieve these goals, the Foundation annually SDM-Science provides Habibie Award to the Indonesian figures who have made a breakthrough in the field of science and technology. Nomination or nominations can be done by the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI), National Research Council (DRN), universities or private, scientific institutions or research, professional organizations and scholars, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and representatives / Embassy in Outer State or individuals.

Nominations by means of proposing candidates to the Foundation Board no later than the 5th of July each year, by attaching a curriculum vitae and fill out special forms provided to explain the achievements and services concerned in the field of science and technology. The candidates Habibie Award Recipients are selected by experts from various disciplines who are members of the Selection Committee Habibie Award. The awarding of the man is expected to encourage the nation to produce the best works that benefit the nation of Indonesia.

In the organizational structure of the Foundation, led by the chair position:

  1. Chairman of the Trustees: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Sc. h.c. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie.
  2. Chairman of the Boards: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wardiman Djojonegoro.
  3. Chairman of the Supervisors: Prof. Drs. Abdul Malik Fajar, MA.

HR Science Foundation aimed at creating superior human resources in Indonesia, has the quality of faith and piety are high, and able to master, develop and control science and technology independently for the glory of the nation and the people of Indonesia as a whole. To achieve the above objectives, the Foundation Science and Technology Human Resources activities, namely:

  • Providing scholarships for the S-3 or research grants for post-S3.
  • Giving awards and prizes to individuals or institutions that have been instrumental in doing groundbreaking work in the field of Science and Technology (Science and Technology).
  • Developing Human Resources in Science and Technology (Science and Technology).
  • Establishing or supporting the establishment of Demonstration Center for Science and Technology.
  • Habibie Award is given once a year since 1999.

 

Habibie Award

HR Science Foundation organizes the awards the achievements in the field of science and technology for the eighteenth time since 1999. The Award was named Choice B.J. Habibie (Habibie Award) was given by the Chairman of the Foundation Board Human Resources Science and Technology. Habibie Award is given in the form:

  1. Achievements
  2. Certificate
  3. The money of US $ 25,000
