The Habibie Center Director of Administration, Dr. Fuadi Rasyid, TETO Head Representative, Ambassador Andrew Hsia and Prospect Foundation Chairman, Ambassador Louis W.H. Tzen gave their opening remarks before the discussion. There were two scholars from Taiwan who presented their papers, they are Dr. Mignonne Man-Jung Chan, Assistant Professor of Graduate Institute of the Americas at Tamkang University, Former Senior Advisor to the President at the National Security Council in Taiwan, on "ECFA: Implications for Taiwan, Cross-Strait and Regional Integration" and Dr. Francis Yi-Hua Kan, Research Project Consultant, Prospect Foundation, Associate Research Fellow, Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University on "Peace and Security in East Asia after ECFA".
The Habibie Center Economic Researcher, Dr. Zamroni Salim, also presented his point of view regarding the issue in his presentation titled "ECFA and Challenging Points For Taiwan" as well as The Habibie Center ASEAN Studies Program Coordinator, Dean Y. Affandi about "ECFA Trade Deals but Challenges Remain". After the presentation, the audience was given the opportunity to ask questions, in which initiate a very lively discussion on the topic.
Also present in the discussion were delegations from Prospect Foundation Mr. SUN, Yang-Ming Vice President of Prospect Foundation, Ms. HSU, Kristy Tsun Tzu, Associate Research Fellow of the Taiwan WTO Center, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), and Mr. LU, Yen-Peng, Research Assistant, Prospect Foundation, local media, diplomats and NGO's.
